Short Bio
Since September 2017 I am an Associate Professor in Communications and Networks at the ENSEA in France while between 2013 to 2017 I was a Lecturer at the University of Essex, UK. From 2011 to 2013 I was a Marie Curie International Outgoing Fellow at the ICS-FORTH and Princeton University, US. Before that, I served as a Senior Lecturer in Telecommunications at Middlesex University in the UK (December 2008 - April 2011). I held post-doctoral positions at the University of Southampton, UK, the Technical University of Crete, Greece, and University College London, UK, from 2005 to 2008. I obtained my Ph.D. in 2005 from Imperial College London, co-funded by I.K.Y. and Panasonic UK ltd. I am a chartered engineer from the Technical Chambers of Greece since 2007, Senior IEEE member, a member of the IEEE P1951.1 Working Group on Smart Cities Standardization, of the IEEE INGR Working Group on Security and of the IEEE P1940 Standardization Workgroup on Standard profiles for ISO 8583 authentication services. Between 2017-2020 I served as a member of the IEEE Teaching Awards Committee. My work has so far been disseminated in more than 80 journals, international conferences and book chapters.
