Research on Embodied Computing
I am working on smart hardware structures for more adaptive computing in the context of multimodal integration on mobile robots. That approach is called Embodied Computing and our systems are currently prototyped onto FPGA devices. The proposed architecture uses the following properties:
Neuro-computing: Neural maps for self-organization into many-core architectures.
Reconfiguration of the hardware structure: Reconfiguration is considered as part of the computing process.
Embodied computing: the dynamic organization of the system is directly dependent of the richness of the environment captured by the robot sensors.
Real-time smart camera : most of the robot behaviors are based on visual sensing and perception. We are developping hardware real-time dataflow IPs for smart cameras.

Research on Reconfigurable Computing
Operating systems: the management of hardware reconfigurable tasks
Data-flow programming: we propose design flow to deploy dataflow actors either in software or hardware threads
Middleware for reconfigurable: the communication between dynamically regions into FPGA devices is managed by a distributed middleware.

2003-2004 Assistant professor fellow at UEVE.
2004-2005 postdoctoral research fellow at INRIA Rocquencourt, AOSTE Team (Y. Sorel)
2005-present Maitre-de-Conferences (associate professor) in Computer Sciences Department (UCP), research in ETIS, ENSEA - University of Cergy-Pontoise.
